Ace's Story...
Hi All! My name is Ace and, if I were a card, IÂ’d be the Ace of Hearts. Why, you ask? Because I just love, love, love everybody. I am so easy going and all I want is to love you and be loved. IÂ’m a young boy of about two years old but IÂ’m not a silly guy like some young ones are. DonÂ’t get me wrong, I love to play. But IÂ’m mature enough so I know to play with the toys IÂ’m given and not chew on my peopleÂ’s stuff. IÂ’m house trained, good with other dogs and IÂ’m even good with the cats in my foster home. If you are looking for a true companion, IÂ’m the one! So how about it! ArenÂ’t you ready for a special Ace of Hearts in your life? 4/27/08 ----------------- For an Adoption Application, please visit and either download/print the online form or simply call/email CBHR to request one in the mail. Thank You for considering a Carolina houndie!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ace, a Charleston Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Charleston, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Charleston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Charleston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Charleston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Charleston paves the way for another one to be saved.
