These hounds are available directly from the owners. REFERRAL dogs are not being adopted through CBHR, and CBHR makes no guarantees on the dog's medical conditions or temperament. CBHR does not accept returned dogs that have been adopted through the referral program. Please use the contact info below. ----------------------- Bowie is 1 1/2 year old basset - husky mix. He is neutered and is current on shots and microchipped. He is very healthy and has a very shiny coat. He weighs approximatley 70lbs. Bowie is very good with other pets - cats and dogs and with children. You can't tell from this picture but he has a blue eye and a brown eye. He looks very much like a Basset but as you can see his face isn't as droopy. He needs a back yard with a fence as he loves to run and play. He lives inside with us but would love to have a yard to play in preferably with other animals to play with. He has no formal training but responds well to his name and 'No'. Why Adoption is a Great Option

~Ref. Bowie, a Charleston Basset Hound/Husky dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound/Husky for sale in Charleston, or seeking a Basset Hound/Husky dog from a breeder in Charleston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Charleston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Charleston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound/Husky breeders who help with Basset Hound/Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Charleston paves the way for another one to be saved.
