Tulip's Story...
Hi, it's Tulip here and I am blossoming here with my foster mom just like a Tulip should since I am getting tons of love and care. At first I was very scared of people and noises but foster mom says I am making a ton of progress everyday. In the beginning I didn't want to come out of my crate or from the very back corner of mom's closet, I felt safe and secure in there but now I am barking when mom comes home from work ready to get out of my crate. I still am working on trusting people, I am not quite ready to come up to people on my own but when my mom rubs my belly I love it, I almost fall asleep because I am so relaxed. I will sit up on the bed with her and she rubs my belly until foster brother comes barking and wants me off because he is so jealous. I get along great with him but he doesn't play with me and I am not sure how to get him to play with me but I really would love a home that has a friend that will teach me how! Foster mom always is telling me that I am such a sweet, beautiful girl and I am starting to think that way about me too. Keep checking back with me because I know this Tulip will want to be picked for your home, I am the best flower you could ever have! 07/23/08 ----------------- For an Adoption Application, please visit www.cbhr.com and either download/print the online form or simply call/email CBHR to request one in the mail. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tulip, a Charleston Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Charleston, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Charleston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Charleston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Charleston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Charleston paves the way for another one to be saved.
