Sonny D.'s Story...
I'm Sonny 'D' (for Delight. I'm so happy now that I've finally finished by heartworm treatment and have been given a clean bill of health. I've gained a lot of weight and have settled in nicely with my foster family. I love my name, Sonny, and respond quickly every time I hear it since I never had a name before. I would fit nicely into any family that wants to take care of me and give me lots of love. I get along great with other dogs - I have 3 foster siblings that are my best friends. I like children of all ages, especially older ones that like to play with me. I especially like belly rubs and playing with my chew toys; and I've learned to walk on a leash and like to go for walks. My foster family says I've been the best foster basset so I get extra treats from them. Please consider me when you're looking for just the right dog for your family. 09/12/08 ----------------- For an Adoption Application, please visit www.cbhr.com and either download/print the online form or simply call/email CBHR to request one in the mail. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sonny D., a Charleston Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Charleston, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Charleston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Charleston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Charleston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Charleston paves the way for another one to be saved.
