Amazing Grace's Story...
Hello everyone! It’s me, Grace – well, really my name is Amazing Grace because it was only by the grace of God that I was rescued from the shelter ‘in time’! My trouble is that I need a few more miracles. You see, I’ve been diagnosed with Lymphoma and on top of that I have a bad case of heartworms, I have crackly lungs, etc, etc, etc. The good thing is that I’m safe now with CBHR. I’m going to live the rest of my days, however many I have left, in CBHR foster care getting spoiled and pampered as much as possible. So although I am not available for adoption, I’d like to ask if you would be my Basset Angel – just visit us over at CBHR page and click on the ‘Basset Angel Form’ on our home page! Many thanks and Aarrooh! For an Adoption Application, please visit and download/print the online form (you will need Adobe Reader to print) OR call/email CBHR to request one in the mail. Thank you for considering a Carolina houndie!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Amazing Grace, a Charleston Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Charleston, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Charleston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Charleston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Charleston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Charleston paves the way for another one to be saved.
