Stella's Story...
Hi everyone, my name is Stella and I am really digging this living in a house deal! You see, I grew up on the streets so I had to grow up real fast so now I can be the puppy I never was. I'm learning all my basic commands; sit, stay, shake and foster momma says I'm a really fast learner. I learned how to ask to go outside when I need to potty too. I get along great with other four leggers and two leggers. And being a girly girl, I love to play with ribbon and yarn. While living in a foster home is grand, what I really dream of is a home of my very own. Can that be your home? For an Adoption Application, please visit www.cbhr.com and download/print the online form (you will need Adobe Reader to print) OR call/email CBHR to request one in the mail. Thank you for considering a Carolina houndie!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Stella, a Charleston Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Charleston, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Charleston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Charleston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Charleston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Charleston paves the way for another one to be saved.
