Bitsy's Story...
Hi everyone- my name is Bitsy and I am so very happy to be a CBHR hound! I had no idea life could be so good. I am still learning that not all humans are mean and there is lots of food and love for a hound dog. Since coming to live with my foster Mom and her pack of 4 legged friends I have really come a long way. I have learned that there is food when you want it, friends to play with, a Mom to scratch my ears and love on me and plenty of places to stretch out in the sun. I have gained weight and learned to play. I love to sun bathe and always find the best places to work on my tan. I am still shy around people in the house, but love to come up to you when I am outside. I am very quiet and serene. Do you have a place at your house where I can keep up my tan? Life is soooooooo great!
For an Adoption Application, please visit www.cbhr.com and either download/print the online form or simply call/email CBHR to request one in the mail. Thank You for considering a Carolina houndie!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bitsy, a Charleston Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Charleston, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Charleston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Charleston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Charleston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Charleston paves the way for another one to be saved.
