for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

Talan's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Talan's Story...
Hi, I'm Talan and my tail wags all the time because I am so happy!

I am almost 2 years old and I love everyone especially my foster basset sisters. I also love children, so a home with other pets and children to play with would be awesome! I'm not picky, though, I would be happy as an only dog too.

I am a very active dog and love to go for walks and play with all my toys. I am housebroken and crate trained. I do prefer sleeping on the couch (or your bed if allowed!), but will do whatever you tell me to do (well, ok... maybe not all the time, but I'm getting better at listening).

Even though I love my foster parents and basset sisters, I'd really like my own home. So, please consider adopting me because I am a great dog!

For an Adoption Application, please visit www.cbhr.com and download/print the online form (you will need Adobe Reader to print) OR call/email CBHR to request one in the mail. Thank you for considering a Carolina houndie!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Talan, a Charleston Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Charleston, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Charleston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Charleston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Charleston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Charleston paves the way for another one to be saved.
