Smuckers's Story...

Hi, I am Smuckers and I am one of Twinkie's puppies. I am about three months old and should be ready for adoption any day now. My Mom is a basset hound and my Dad is a traveling salesman of unknown breeding. I am a velco pup and am the first to jump in your lap and the last to leave it. I will seek you out often and I prefer the company of my human to his canine brother & sister. I am laid back but have bouts of playing as any puppy would. Foster Momma is crate training us and starting with housebreaking so that we will have a jump on our training! So if you want a little puppy love in your home, ask about adopting me, Smuckers. 04/22/11

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Smuckers, a Charleston Basset Hound puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Charleston, or seeking a Basset Hound puppy from a breeder in Charleston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Charleston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Charleston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Charleston paves the way for another one to be saved.
