Pete's Story...
Basset Hound - 4yo Male

Babe Magnet Alert! I am Pete and I am bit proud of the fact that I had all of the CBHR volunteers that were a part of my transport to my foster home just swooning over how loving I am on top of my classic basset good looks. Hey...A hound does not ace charm school without the skills. I am very affectionate and love belly rubs, but who doesn't? I love to go on short walks and am a good walker. When I am happy and excited I will jump in circles. I have a super howl and love to show it off when foster Momma and foster basset sister go for a walk without me. I am housebroken and get along well with other dogs though I may get just a bit jealous. So, if you would like a super handsome young man to add to your family, ask about adopting me, Pete. 06/19/11

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pete, a Charleston Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Charleston, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Charleston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Charleston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Charleston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Charleston paves the way for another one to be saved.
