Snoopy's Story...

My name is Snoopy. I was just rescued from the animal shelter by CBHR. I have been told that I look like that handsome hound off of the Peanut’s cartoon, but my foster mom says I am way cuter! I love to play tug of war with my foster brothers, but my favorite game is “stop, drop and roll”, that is what I do when my humans come in the room so I can get my belly rubbed, so far they don’t seem too hard to train. I am completely housebroken, I don’t mind sharing my food or toys, and I will pile down with the rest of the gang at bedtime. The vet said I am in great health, and that I am going to be a bit on the large side. I am not fat I am big boned. I am very laid back and don’t have any hang ups. I just want a soft pillow to sleep on, a full tummy and someone to love. If you are looking for a gentle natured, big boy to share your life with, I am the hound for you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Snoopy, a Charleston Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Charleston, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Charleston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Charleston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Charleston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Charleston paves the way for another one to be saved.
