Alvin's Story...

Hi, I am Alvin and I am handsome enough to have been a show dog! I am an all around great agreeable guy and like people and dogs of all ages. I love food and walks and love to have my face and ears rubbered. I am a very smart boy as I learned to get out of the dog door in 2 seconds... now if I can just learn to get back IN! I am housebroken and know better than to chew on things around the house. I will make a ruckus if I can't be in the room with you, but if you had a hound as fine as me, I'm sure you would want me with you all of the itme. I would love to have a new home soon... so ask about adopting me, Alvin!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Alvin, a Charleston Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Charleston, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Charleston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Charleston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Charleston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Charleston paves the way for another one to be saved.
