Pretty Polly's Story...

Hi there! My name is Pretty Polly, I am 4 years old and I was recently sprung from death row. I hitched a ride to the beach where I am hanging out with three foster brothers and the people they own. We all get along great and I have learned to compete in the Basset 500 and WBW (Basset Wrestling). I am a little on the thin side but I do have a healthy appetite. The vet tells me I am in excellent health. The two legged animals here think I have the sweetest disposition, they remark that I am well trained and I do not have any bad habits, although I would like to counter surf, I understand what no means. I use the doggy door, and like being able to come in and out when I want. I will occasionally get excited and bark, but how else are you going to know what I am thinking? I absolutely adore belly rubs and I will share my food and toys. All I really want is to be loved! I will hang out with you quietly or play. You will never be sorry you picked me. I know you have room for a petite basset in your house, and your heart! 06/05/12

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pretty Polly, a Charleston Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Charleston, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Charleston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Charleston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Charleston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Charleston paves the way for another one to be saved.
