An orange tabby like nothing you've ever seen! We've named this incredible little guy Sunlight. He is between 9 months young. He was brought to the shelter along with his sister Moonbeam. This glorious pair was found living under a house. This utterly SWEET and loving boy must be seen in person to fully appreciate his coloring. Everyone at the shelter was in shock when out of the box emerged such amazingly colored kitties! Sunlight is not quite an orange tabby- incredibly, he appears to be a silvery-orange color. Add white trim and an adorable round look and you have a perfect kitty!
If you're looking to add one gorgeous pet to your life, come and meet Sunlight. Along with his beauty, he is a gentle, purry, affectionate and easygoing soul-man. A must-have charmer.
Litterbox trained.
Sunlight is neutered, Felv/Fiv negative, and fully vaccinated. He will be microchipped on his adoption day.
Adoption fee: $37.50 until 9/1/17

About Lenoir County SPCA

About Our Shelter...

We are seeing increasingly growing numbers of family pets turned in due to the weak economy, vacations and moving plans, in addition to the strays and abandoned animals being brought in by Animal Control. We usually see a decrease in the number of adoptions much to the same reasons. Therefore, we will be continuously overcrowded and have many wonderful animals desperate for safe, loving homes.

IF YOU SEE an animal you are interested in, please call the shelter and see if it is still available. Animals are held a minimum of 72 hours. As space permits, animals are kept beyond their legal hold time. This website is updated weekly.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Shelter hours are Monday thru Saturday 12 noon to 4 p.m. and closed on Sundays.

Our Adoption Process...

There is always a constant flow of animals at the shelter, making it nearly impossible to keep an accurate web page. There are always several more at the shelter than what you may see here. I encourage you to visit the shelter. Adopting a pet is very easy. We have everyone fill out a questionaire, including a veterinary reference, just to make sure our animals get the best homes possible. There is a $100.00-115.00 donation for all dogs and a $45-65.00 dollar donation for cats, which includes a spay/neuter certificate, a rabies vaccine, worming and a distemper vaccine for the animal. You are required to take the animal into a vet within three to five days to insure its health and to get any additional shots.

ANIMALS FROM THIS SHELTER ARE REQUIRED TO BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED ONCE AGE APPROPRIATE. ANIMALS AT THE SHELTER ARE NOT ROUTINELY ALTERED PRIOR TO ADOPTION.

IF YOU ARE WITH A RESCUE:
We are very pleased and fortunate to on occasion be able to place some of our wonderful pets into all breed or breed specific rescue groups where they will be safe and cared for until their forever home is found. To ensure that our animals are placed into legitimate and proper rescue groups, there is a screening process for the organization. If you are with a rescue organization and are interested in one of our animals, please email Kris, our Rescue Coordinator.

You will be required to provide your organization's adoption contract, vet name and number so that verification can be obtained to condition of animals in your care, name of director or intake director, a brief overview of screening process, and any information about your organization you feel is necessary.
