Facts about Hayley

  • Breed: Chihuahua Mix
  • Color: Tan/Yellow/Fawn - With White
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Female
Hi! My name is Hayley but my foster mom calls me Hayley Beans and my foster dad calls me Hayley's Comet because I am so fast. So it might be best if I have a forever home with a fenced in yard. I REALLY LIKE people and attention. I follow my foster mom everywhere. My first night at my foster's house I found the toy box right away and started playing with a squeaky carrot. I also like when my foster throws a ball so I can chase it. It is so funny when she tries to get the ball from me. But I do not play all the time. Sometimes I just like to cuddle with my foster mom and fall asleep on her lap. At night, I sleep in a kennel next to my foster's bed. I am working on potty training and my commands. I sit pretty good when I am offered a treat.

Hayley is estimated to be 1-2 years old and 8 lbs. Since we don't know at all what doggy genes are in the dogs make up (we don't know who mom and dad are!), we are just guessing on breed.

All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They have all had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer, are treated for fleas, have a heartworm test if over 6 months old and are up to date on a heartworm preventative.

Please note that because we require a home visit at the time of adoption we can only place animals in homes within a 60 mile radius of Minneapolis. If you are interested in meeting this dog please fill out the pre-adoption application on our website at http://www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and we will get back to you to arrange a meeting in the foster home.

We are also having an adoption event at R&D Bio-techne, located at 2001 Kennedy St NE Minneapolis 55413 on Saturday, September 2, from 12-2pm. Please bring a copy of your pre-adoption application.

About Safe Hands Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Safe Hands Animal Rescue is dedicated to saving lives and finding forever homes for stray, abandoned and surrendered dogs in high kill shelters. We are now incorporated and 501(c)3 pending. Of great importance to us is to reduce the stray population and need for healthy animal euthanasia through spay/neuter programs, education, and promotion of respect for the furry creatures that share our lives.

We are a small, no-kill, volunteer run organization. All of our dogs listed are in foster homes waiting to be adopted and because of this, we get to know the dogs' personalities very well and use this information to match them to an appropriate home. We do not have a physical shelter.

This rescue is not funded by public funds nor does it receive many donations so it is dependent on adoption fees to keep operating. We have a great need for foster homes. If you are interested in providing foster care, and live within an hour of the Twin Cities, please e-mail us
Donations ALWAYS needed are: dog crates, puppy pee pads, natures miracle (for pet stain removal), Nutrisource brand puppy and dog food, Lysol disinfecting wipes, paper towels, large clean towels, dog toys, leashes, collars and gas cards to help with our transports.

Our Adoption Process...

We only adopt out animals to homes within 60 miles of the Twin Cities. Our adoption process begins with the return of our pre-adoption form, available upon request or on our website. After reviewing your application a meeting is scheduled between you and the pup, sometimes in the fosters home or at a neutral dog friendly place. If any resident dogs are in your home, it is recommended that the pups meet at this time. After the meeting a home visit is scheduled and if everything goes well with the visit the adoption is finalized at that time. A home visit by one of Safe Hands representitives is REQUIRED prior to finalizing any adoption and we must meet all members of the household where the pup will be living sometime during the adoption process.
