My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It's been over a year now that Little Bear has been in his foster home. He has come a long way in a years time. He seems to be getting along with new people better now. In fact, Angie likes to visit with him and he will give her his paw! He is only about 35 pounds so a very nice size. He just needs a chance in a loving home.
This boy was scared of new people and especially men! Having been previously abused by his male owner has left him not trusting male humans much. But here in his foster home he is happy and content. This tells us that he would be good in another home that has the patience to work with him.
Bear is now 4yo old male, neutered, microchip, current on vaccines and preventatives. We think he has some Mountain Cur in him and he is very intelligent. His coat is in beautiful shape, so shiny and the brindle pattern is gorgeous.
Bear had been at our local shelter since November 24th 2017. He barked a lot at people but absolutely loved the children he met. The kids that visited would give him treats and he loved that! We found out that his previous owner had abused Bear and he was terrified of this man. He is shy around men and we are working with him to trust once again. Not all are bad, slowly he is learning.
The shelter staff loved Bear so much that they reached out to Save1Pet to save him after nearly 8 months of confinement. His time ran out when the shelter filled up with other strays that needed a kennel. Thankfully, Bear is heartworm negative and the shelter staff kept him up to date on prevention during his stay.
His adoption fee is $120
