My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shiner is currently living in a foster home in Jefferson, Wisconsin.

Meet Shiner! This handsome, gentle giant spent his younger years as a canine drug dog, as well as as an ambassador for the department to visit schools and help with education. Sadly, his retirement hasn't been ideal. At 7.5 years old, he was surrendered to rescue and needs to start all over.

Shiner weights a whopping 110 pounds...but needs to lose a some to be healthier and happier! A gentle exercise program and healthy diet will help him lose those pounds! Losing these pounds
Shiner is good with kids, dogs, and couches. He wants nothing more than to be by his person and lay his head in their lap! Retirement style living will be the best fit for this boy! He will be getting a full medical work up to learn more about his pain and weakened back legs. Whenever pain is present, a home with small children should be avoided. Losing weight will definitely help! A one story house or limited stairs is ideal for Shiner!

Shiner has lived with dogs of all sizes, but does best with dogs under 30 pounds. He can be a bit much for bigger dogs and does some unwelcomed mounting. For this reason, a smaller, calmer buddy would be best for this guy!

Can you be the family for Shiner?
