Winston's Story...
Winston is a very special guy. At about six months old, he is already about 60 pounds. He was found wandering down a road in West Virginia and is absolutely gorgeous and as sweet as can be.

Winston is looking for a patient loving family. He is quite clumsy as large breed puppies can be, maybe a bit more so-we are hoping some of that improves as he ages. He attracts attention and fans everywhere he goes with his happy go lucky attitude. He loves everything and everyone he meets. It is possible he may be a pyrenean mastiff-he looks very close to that breed. We all love him and are hoping that a forever home with a huge heart will meet him and decide, as we have, that Winston deserves a loving family.

If you love extra large dogs and think you might be that patient loving forever home, we would love to discuss Winston with you further. He comes with a few challenges. About the only thing he really has problems with are steps, he should go to a home where there are only a few steps to go outside.

Applications are required prior to meeting the puppy. Adoption fee is $325 and includes vaccines, heartworm test, fecal check and microchip. A $100 deposit will be taken with a separate neuter contract, he must be neutered by one year old-deposit returned with proof of neuter. Please go to caninehumane.org and click on Adopt.. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Winston, a Columbia Great Pyrenees dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Pyrenees for sale in Columbia, or seeking a Great Pyrenees dog from a breeder in Columbia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Columbia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Columbia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Pyrenees breeders who help with Great Pyrenees rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Columbia paves the way for another one to be saved.
