Facts about Sophie

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Brown Tabby
  • Age: Senior
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 11763066-COURTESY POST
  • Hair: Short
Sophie likes to curl up in a basket or sleep in the middle of the bed with the humans.  She needs a home free of stress.  Her current home has dogs that try to harass her.  If your dog likes cats, she will like them as well and it wouldn't be a problem.  Although shy at first,  Sophie quickly warms up and likes to talk to you.  She is good with other cats as well.  She never scratches or bites anyone.  Very sweet.  She is an indoor cat and doesn't like to go outside. She is in great health and would like to come and cuddle up with you!

Sophie was born 05/16/2006 and is now 11 years old.  She is a brown tabby with white paws and is spade. About 9 lbs.

Vet: 190 Animal Clinic 972-675-9566. Last appointment 03/17/2016 and had her annual exam and had FVRC-P Combo Vaccine 3. Rabies Vaccine as well.  Will update vaccine asap.

If you can offer Sophie a home, please email Art De Leon at adeleon39@yahoo.com or text at 469-226-4365.

About Friends of Rowlett Animals

About Our Rescue Group...

Friends of Rowlett Animals (FRAs) is a 501(c)(3) all volunteer non-profit organization.  FRAs was founded in 2004 and started off with 4 volunteers that wanted to support the Rowlett Animal Shelter.  These volunteers sponsored 1 or 2 pets per month and reduced the adoption fees for these highlighted pets in an effort to increase adoptions for the Shelter. Our organization has grown to 100 volunteers and while the Shelter is not an official No-Kill shelter, FRAs has helped the Rowlett Animal Shelter maintain a 98% or better Live Release Rate since 2013!  No Kill Shelters must only maintain a 90% or better to be considered No Kill. With this growth now we are able to host multiple off-site adoption events, sponsor heartworm treatments for all dogs in the shelter that test positive for heartworms, sponsor a Barn Cat program for the feral cats, and so much more!

Come Meet Our Pets...

We have cats available for adoption at PetSmart in Rockwall on 931 I-30 Frontage Rd 75032.  We do adoption events on Saturday, see where we are here: http://friendsofrowlettanimals.org/events/

Our Adoption Process...

Some animals shown are rehoming courtesy posts for the current owners, and other animals are available for adoption through Friends of Rowlett Animals (FRAs).

All dogs and cats in the care of FRAs have an adoption package of $100 that includes their annual vaccinations, sterilization, heartworm test for dogs or an FeLV/FIV test for cats, and a microchip. You must sign an adoption contract when adopting a pet through FRAs.
