Sadie Mae's Story...
Sadie Mae is an adorable coonhound mix who is full of joy. She is about 4 years old and weighs about 45-50 pounds. Sadie was discovered along with her littermates on a farm where she was malnourished and flea-ridden. He rescuer has kept her for several years, but recently decided came to us for help in finding her a home. She is a lovely hound. She does well with other dogs, and is crate trained. She spends a lot of time outside and does enjoy that, but we want her to be inside dog in a home with a fenced-in yard for her to enjoy. She would love to have a fur sibling and a family who enjoys being outdoors. She would be a great running/hiking buddy. She walks well on a leash and knows a couple of basic commands.

** All HART dogs are vetted prior to adoption. This means spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, microchipped, heartworm tested and on prevention. Adoption fees vary and are based on type of dog, cost of vetting, etc. Sadie's adoption fee is $200.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sadie Mae, a Hermitage Coonhound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Coonhound (Unknown Type) for sale in Hermitage, or seeking a Coonhound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Hermitage.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hermitage already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hermitage breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Coonhound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Coonhound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hermitage paves the way for another one to be saved.
