My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Rocky. You will never meet a sweeter and more innocent soul. When Rocky meets you, he will bashfully come in for pets. As soon as he comes in contact with you, he will fall to the ground and roll on his back. When your eyes connect all of your worries will melt away. Life is simple for Rocky, he loves his people and enjoys just cuddling on the couch all evening long.
Rocky goes at an easy pace, but will also romp around after tennis balls. Rocky gets frightened during thunder storms, and we are working strategies to help him cope. He takes treats nicely and is a food motivated fellow.

Rocky is currently living it up in a foster home and learning to be in a home environment. He is learning leash walks, he is crate and house trained. If you would like to meet Rocky, please out an application.

Adoption Process

Guardianship Application available for download at

The Adoption process is designed to help best place dogs with homes that are in the best interest of the dogs and their human companions. The adoption process starts with a prescreen review of an Guardian Application. Making decisions about dog placement in adoptive homes is an "art", not a "science", and there will be times when applications will be denied for various reason(s). This is left to the discretion of the MAPS after reviewing relevant information. MAPS reserves the right to make all decisions regarding placement or final disposition of any rescued dog in its care into a foster or adoptive home. There is no guarantee that any applicant(s) requesting to adopt a dog being fostered through MAPS, or posted on MAP's web site, will be granted an adoption. After a successful prescreen, including background checks, the applicant(s) are notified that they can visit the dogs and a time slot is made for the dog and applicant interaction. After the interaction we encourage several days of reflection before adopting a pet to help assure this will be a lifetime commitment of love and quality care for the dog. Next we conduct a home/neighborhood visit to the Guardian Applicant's home. If the home visit proves successful the new mom and/or dad of the dog will sign an Adoption Agreement and share a lifetime of love !
