Facts about Nathan

  • Breed: Boston Terrier/Labrador Retriever Mix
  • Color: Black - With White
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Nathan is a Boston Terrier/Lab mix, and he looks it, with such a cute face! He is a little less than 2 years old, weighs about 35 pounds, is fully vetted, and heartworm negative. Nathan is house trained, crate trained, and does reasonably well on a leash. He is very vocal when he needs to go out, so there is no doubt of his need. He is a little nervous around the other dogs at first. In time, he gets more comfortable but is not seeking them out to play. He does better with dogs his size or larger. We think Nathan would do well as an only dog because of his indifference to the others. He is very people oriented, wants to be close, loves belly rubs. He has not been around young children and has has only passing experience with cats so we aren't sure how he would do with them. The boy is also spring-loaded! He will jump five feet straight into the air, from a standing position, when he is waiting for the door to be opened. We discovered, last night, that Nathan is afraid of thunderstorms, not uncommon in dogs.

Our program fee is $150 and we have an application process to insure that Nathan is a good fit for your family. Our online application may be found on our website at www.adoptapet.com/luckybreakpetrescue . Please feel free to contact us with questions, or if you would like to meet Nathan, currently located in Normandy, TN.

About Lucky Break Pet Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We work with people in the community to get dogs spay/neutered, vaccinated and adopted or transferred to a rescue in another area before they land in the local, high-kill Animal Control facility. As we are foster-based with limited resources and space, usually, the people who have the dog(s) or puppies foster them, for a short period of time, while we pursue outside rescue or re-homing. We will come and take photos, assess the dog's temperament and start a health record. So far, this system is working very well and saving dogs has been a community effort.

We are a small group of people with limited resources but a strong desire to see the homeless, abused and neglected dogs in our communities placed in good, loving, permanent homes. If you are in our area and share our passion, please join us!

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our rescue is foster-based so we will need to put you in touch with the foster family of the dog you would like to meet. You can coordinate with the fosters to pick a time and place that will be suitable for you to 'meet and greet' the dogs or dogs that interest you. If you have other dogs, we encourage you to bring one or more to meet the potential new family member and make sure that this is a good fit. We want to make sure that the adoption is good for both your family and our rescue dog and will be a permanent home.

Our Adoption Process...

If you are interested in adopting one of our rescued pets, we require that you complete an Adoption Application. Our online application may be found on our website, www.adoptapet.com/luckybreakpetrescue . We require a vet reference and two personal references as well as information about other pets you may have and what your current living arrangements are, eg., apartment, rental home, owned home, fenced yard, etc. Our current adoption fee is usually $150.00, which only covers the vetting costs. This may be subject to change if our vetting costs rise. We prefer to meet with you in person at your home and bring the dog for a visit. If you are located too far away from us, we may ask someone from a group closer to you to meet with you. The process could take between one and three weeks to complete, depending on the responsiveness of your references, the needs of the dog and transportation requirements.
