My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi everyone! My name is Braxton. I'm a 7-month-old neutered male Black Lab/Pit Bull mix puppy. I weigh about 43 pounds. I'm microchipped and up to date on my vaccines, so I'm all ready to move into my forever home. I'm a super sweet, happy pup who's always ready to play. I love meeting new people and I get along well with other dogs and cats, too.

I arrived at the South LA pound as an owner surrender with my brother in mid-July. We had a family, but for some reason, they decided that they didn't want to take care of us anymore! After a couple of days at the pound, I was taken for neuter surgery, then back to my cage to rest and heal. My brother got pulled by a Pit Bull rescue, but I got left behind because the people at that rescue didn't think I looked enough like a Pit Bull. Not to worry though, because the very next day, the friendly folks at CageFree came and pulled me out of that scary shelter. The next thing I knew, I was on my freedom ride and at the rescue facility.

I've made lots of friends since I arrived at CageFree, and I'm looking forward to finding my happily ever after with a loving family. I'm still a young dog with plenty of puppy energy to spare, so I'm in search of an active family that will give me lots of attention and exercise. I'd love to explore the world with you!
