Facts about Dragon

  • Breed: Chihuahua/Dachshund Mix
  • Color: Black
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Unknown
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 11773957-F: GO FM: DS

Dragon was an owner surrender due to eviction. The owners had actually fostered her and had never really led to an adoption.

The only thing ferocious about Dragon is how cute she can be. Though she only has one eye she manages perfectly and keeps an eye on her foster mama all day. She has absolutely perfected the “puppy dog” face and she will use it to get whatever she wants, whether that is extra snuggles or a treat. Being a middle-aged pup hasn’t stopped her from being playful and she loves rolling around on her back until she gets a belly rub. If you want to get Dragon excited, just grab her leash! She loves exploring on walks and just getting some fresh air and, since she is small, they don’t have to be very long. She’s a loving and loyal dog and she will make a great companion to a lucky home.

Dragon’s ideal home can be a fairly low maintenance one. She does pee fairly frequently throughout the day so either a home or apartment where she can be let out every few hours or have some peepee pads around would be best. She prefers being close to the ground for sleeping and lounging so there would not be any concern around furniture. Also good would be a home with a nice area to walk around and explore. I think she would be okay with older kids (not toddlers) who understand that she can play sometimes but will also give her some space when she needs it. She is very submissive and would do best in a home with another submissive dog or being the only dog.

Adoption fee is $250 and includes DHPP & rabies vaccinations, heartworm testing, spay/neuter surgery, deworming, and microchip. All animals are examined by a veterinarian. Please fill out our application at http://adoptadog.goodkarmapetrescue.org if you are interested in meeting or adopting this dog and we will be in touch right away!

About Good Karma Pet Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Good Karma Pet Rescue is a small network of foster homes in South Florida dedicated to providing dogs and cats in need with the love and help they need and deserve.

GK was started in 2011 by Stacey Chen, who decided that she could best provide for her foster animals by starting a rescue that aims for best care rather than high volume. We intend to stay as small as we need to be to ensure that every one of our foster animals is treated with the same care and respect we show our own furry family.

GK is based in Fort Lauderdale and is supported by wonderful, dedicated foster parents throughout the South Florida area. If you are interested in helping to save lives through volunteering, fostering, or adopting, please get in touch with us!

Come Meet Our Pets...

We meet potential adopters by appointment only, typically in the foster's or potential adopter's home. Dogs can be arranged to be seen at a local park or a similar location.

Our Adoption Process...

We have a quick but thorough adoption process. We ask you to fill out an application and we will touch base with you by phone. If we feel you are a good fit for the animal you would like to adopt based upon your application, we will want to do a home visit and have you meet the pet. If everything checks out, we will ask that you sign an adoption contract and pay a donation - usually $75 for cats and $150 for dogs. This includes all vetting, spay/neuter, vaccines, etc.

Our contract allows us to come visit you and your new family member after the adoption to make sure everything is going well and your new pet is happy & healthy.
