My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Simon and I'm a very sweet and playful puppy. My foster home consists of a married couple who I adore and follow around all day. There are also dog friends here too. Cupcake is a large shepard and we play in the backyard until we are too tired. Ellie is a bit older and my size, but I tend to leave her alone because she isn't as fun as Cupcake. (Don't tell her I said that, I have been told to respect my elders.) When my foster parents get home I'm super excited to go play, but I always want a little love time on the porch first so I get belly rubs and kisses before romping around in the yard. I have only been in my foster home for a few weeks but I have already learned so much! I know how to sit and I'm doing great not having accidents in the house. I also go into my crate at night to sleep and I don't fuss throughout the night. My leash skills are getting better each day and I'm a perfect gentleman riding in a car. My friends who rescued me call me serious Simon, because I always look like I'm contemplating saving the world or math equations when I'm starting out the window. I'm really just plotting how to get more treats but they don't know that. If you are looking for a sweet little dog who will be a big gentle giant one day, look no further.

All of our pets start their journey in Memphis Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted.

In order to qualify for ALIVE’s program all of the following steps must be met: • You must be at least 24 years of age and be able to provide ALIVE with proof of age. • Any current pets must be up to date on vaccinations, and be spayed/neutered. Exceptions to this will only be considered if proof of a medical explanation is provided. • If you currently rent, you must provide a landlord’s phone number and a copy of your executed lease. • All members of the family living in the home where the animal will be placed must be interviewed. • Allow an ALIVE Rescue Memphis representative into your home for a visit to insure that your home is safe for the potential new dog or cat. • Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and proper care for a pet. • Currently, the requested donation to adopt a dog over 4 months of age is $450.00. The $450.00 adoption fee includes transport to the Chicago area.

Our adoption application can be found at http://www.aliverescuememphis.org/adoptionapplication/

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you submit an application immediately to start the adoption process. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, ALIVE Rescue Memphis is operated 100% by volunteers. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well educated decision from well qualified staff.
