Did someone say hubba hubba? You must have been talking about Chowder then! This stunning guy is as wonderful as he is handsome. Chowder is a 3 year old male Siberian Husky. We rescued him from an over crowded kill shelter in GA. He was a stray there so not much is known about his history but there's no signs he was ever mistreated. Chowder is healthy, neutered and current on vaccines. He loves affection and other dogs. He likes to play! Chowder is crate trained and house trained. He has quite a silly personality including chasing a duster when his foster Momma tries to clean. Chowder's coat needs a bit of work. Regular brushing and good nutrition will have him back in pristine condition in no time. While he's an easy first Husky, we'd like to see him go to a home with a fenced yard, or someone who will exercise him plenty, and other dogs to play with. No small animals please. Chowder likes all humans but we want to make sure any home who adopts him has taught children to be respectful of a dog's space. No apartments please. Chowder weighs 60 lbs but will be closer to 70 lbs once he's filled out.

Chowder also knows basic commands. It's very apparent that someone has worked with him and he has very nice house matters.

Chowder is in foster care in NC but can be transported to MD or NJ for adoption.  Anyone applying to adopt Chowder must be willing to travel to either MD or NJ, once the application is approved.

~~The Last Resort is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. If you’re still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at www.thelastresortrescue.com/adoptionapplication.htm

About Our Rescue Group...

We rescue dogs from high kill shelters usually in the south because they euthanize via barbaric methods like gas chamber, electrocution, etc.
