Barclay is approximately a year old and is a male Chihuahua. He is about 7 lbs and has been fully vetted and is up-to-date on all vaccinations and has been neutered. He is on heartworm prevention.
Barclay was a stray wandering very dangerous highways and rivers for about a month in an approximate 15 mile radius. He had no trust of humans. After 17 hours and a medium well prime rib, I was able to win his trust and get him in a backyard. In a day, I was able to pet him.
He has been in my home for eight weeks now. He is a sweet little guy who continues to learn to trust humans and loves to play. It took a while to be able to pick him up and get a harness on him. He is still very skittish so is only able to go out double leashed in a fully fenced. tightly picketed fence backyard.
Barclay was not house trained when he arrived at my home but does go outside to potty and will diligently use a pp pad properly inside. He is crate trained and enjoys playing in a dog playpen that I set up for him. He is OK with my Schnauzers but a little bit barky and would probably prefer to be with dogs his own size. He enjoys looking out the window and barks occasionally.
He loves people of all ages, and has never once been nippy or shown any side that wasn't completely sweet and pleasant. He likes children, men and women equally.
