My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Nyx. The shelter card called me a cocker/heeler mix. I act and look a lot more like a beagle than either of those breeds. When I am walking on a leash my nose stays to the ground. I love to smell! I do walk well, though if you let me I'll pull a little. I am 4 years old.

I was not really used to other dogs when I came into my foster home. The big ones especially were really scary. I would charge them if I felt threatened which was a lot. My foster family both human and canine are teaching me that this kind of behavior is unacceptable.

I used to have to live outside in the big empty lot all by myself. Now that I am being good, I am getting to stay inside more and more.

I don't mind the kitty cats. They don't scare me. They are quiet and small.

People I LOVE!. It doesn't really matter what size they are. I am good for a bath Ask Jacob at Petsmart in the grooming salon. He said I did excellent for my bath. My foster mom can pet me while I'm eating and stuff the flea pill in my mouth. I really just want to be loved. I am not having accidents in the house. In fact my foster mom says I would be perfect if I only liked other dogs better. She knows this is not my fault. I was probably an only dog. The light of someone's life. They babied me and spoiled me and for some unknown reason ended up taking me to the pound.

I will probably be happiest as an only dog.

Nyx by the way is the Greek Goddess (or personification) of the night
