The Humane Society is a non-profit organization serving the human and animal population of of Stark County for over 100 years. Besides providing a safe haven for the unwanted dogs and cats in our community, we find new and loving homes for them as well. We also conduct humane education programs in all our schools K-12. We take our pets to area nursing homes to visit the elderly. Sometimes this is the only time some of the residnets get a visit. Over the years we have been named Employer of the Year by Goodwill Industries for hiring the physical and mentally challenged. We perform these tasks with no governmental funding whatsoever. We raise our budget throught Bequests, fundraisers, membership and donations.

Our Adoption Process...
Adoption fees are based on the age of the pet $10 to $25. If the pet is not already altered the adopter must leave a refundable deposit of $35 - this is reimbursed after verification the pet has been fixed. We also give Spay - Neuter coupon to assist with the cost of having the pet fixed. A free exam voucher is also given at the time of adoption.
