Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, they call me Gwen and I am from Central Illinois. I moved to the Quad Cities in July and I am loving it. The nice lady I met here stuck me with a needle, said I was a very healthy 50 lbs. Terrier/Lab mix and guessed my age to be just under 1 year old. They said I have to come back “to get fixed”, but that was ok because they gave me a treat when I was done. I hope they give me another treat when I go back and get fixed next week!
I ask the shy cat here every day if she wants to play, but she doesn’t so I just leave her alone. The other dog here is a real old guy, he is good for going on walks with me and my foster mom but other than that, he doesn’t play either. I usually say good morning to the old guy and then just leave him alone too. Because I am so playful I have to wear a leash when we see other dogs I haven’t met yet. Boy, do I love playing with other dogs!
I like it here on this farm, the cows are pretty funny, and I sneak in with them to play but I can’t stay long: Mom whistles for me and I know that means it is time to leave the cows and get petted again. Sheep are funny to look at, but we don’t have much in common, so I leave them alone.
I’m not allowed to get up on the furniture here or beg at the table (a lady needs manners you know!) and when I’m left by myself, I just lay on my blanket in front of the couch until someone comes home. I like to sleep under my foster mom’s bed (the cat gets to sleep ON her bed, I guess she needs some Mom time too). I’ve never made a mess in the house, not even once…but I do like to chew on Mom’s shoes when she’s gone. You have to remember, I’m still a puppy! I wouldn’t mind staying here but I wish I had some kids to live with because I really like to play and go for more walks and even go for a jog. Two little boys came to visit me and I licked their faces REALLY clean for them.
I’ve been in the car a lot and I really like the car because they have a soft blanket that I just lay down on and relax. Sometimes I even fall asleep. I can sit, lie down, and come to you when called, but sometimes I forget that I’m not supposed to get on the furniture and Mom says I still need to learn some more manners. I heard Mom say I’m so smart that I get to go to school soon with other dogs, sounds fun!
Gwen’s adoption fee is $250, and adopters must live within 175 miles of the Quad City Area.
