Hawkins is a gorgeous male puppy who is looking for his FORever home! We suspect that Hawkins is a Brittany Spaniel x German Shorthaired Pointer mix. He definitely has that "hound" look and the best floppy ears! He is 5 months old and currently weighs about 25 lbs. Hawkins was found in a rural AL shelter suffering from the ravaging effects of parvovirus. Friends of Rescue sent him straight to a vet, and after 6 days of treatment, he was feeling much better and headed to a loving foster home. Since then, he's been enjoying his time on his foster family's horse farm. He's great with horses and has even become good friends with the resident pot bellied pig! Hawkins loves other dogs and looks to them for leadership, so we would really like for him to go to a home with a canine friend. Hawkins rides well in a car, and he is house-trained (his foster has a doggy door). He loves to snuggle on the couch at night, and he would prefer to sleep in the bed with his human. He is great with kids, and would love a kid of his own! We expect Hawkins to mature to about 60 lbs. Hawkins is fostered in Huntsville, AL. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and current on heart worm, flea, and parasite preventative.
