My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zoey is fostered in Plano Texas through United Yorkie Rescue http://unitedyorkierescue.org
Zoey is a sweet 10 pound, 8-year-old Yorkie girl who came to United Yorkie Rescue in June 2017 from a shelter. he was a stray in the Dallas TX area who was covered in fleas and burs. The burs were all over her head and face, preventing her from shutting her eyes or blinking. Thankfully, she was taken to animal control and the shelter reached out for rescue to take her.

Zoey is flea free now, but she does have internal parasites and is also heartworm positive. She is being treated for the parasites and will begin HW treatment. She is anemic, likely from the flea bites, and she appears to have dry eyes. We need to get her a spay and dental but have to wait until her blood values look more normal.
Zoey gets along with her four fur foster siblings and is no longer afraid of going out onto the grass. She's started playing with toys and the other dogs in her foster home. Her foster Mamma says everyday is like watching a flower bloom.. All Zoey wants is love now that she knows receiving love is a good thing. Zoey has learned that the other dogs in the home are fun and non threatening. Zoey clearly has health issues but UYR is spending chasing down answers for this sweet girl. Zoey has been to an eye specialist and is doing fine now with some time and healing, her sight is great. She's still getting regular medicated baths for her skin. She's taking iron daily for her anemia and has completed meds for internal parasites. She's almost done with drops for her ear infections, and as soon as her iron and liver levels have improved she'll be spayed and have a dental. She still needs updated tests on her thyroid.
Zoey is a very sweet girl, well behaved and gets along with other dogs. Although she has a few more medical hurdles to cross, she'll soon be ready for adoption.
