found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
This photo definitely doesn't do this beautiful dog justice! A spa day is in order - underneath the shelter matts and filth is a gorgeous Terrier mix with shades of apricot running through his cottony hair. James will require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his scruffy coat soft and matt-free.
James immediately wants to make it clear that he's a LOVE! His adorable little nose sniffed shyly through the bars at an outstretched hand...and then an ear to ear smile. James was brought out of his cage.. and before you know it, he was in our rescuer's lap. He was somewhat frightened.. but was so happy for the hug and sense of safety.
This 9 - 12 month old, 13 lb cutie-pie truly lights up when he feels like he's done a good job... some serious belly rubs and kind words will send him over the moon. James truly wants to be a family dog....he will be overjoyed that he's finally found his forever home.
We are searching for an adult-only.. or a home with older, dog-crazy kids for this very sweet and active pup. It's not that James doesn't like young children.. he does, but we're concerned with tail pulling or less than gentle treatment.
We envision James with active retirees or involved families who want an adorable young dog as a family member and best friend. James would be so excited to spend his days in the company of his people....he's always thrilled to go for a long hike on mountain trails or neighborhood paths. Just as long as he's with his special people, James is a very happy and loyal guy.
James rescuer had the following to say about this wonderful little guy:
James is such a cute little dog! He's super friendly and active! James just wants you to play with him, maybe go on a long hike.. and then please hold him tight (perfect lap dog!) He is an energetic guy like most JRT's and loves the people who are kind to him with all his sweet heart. James isn't at all temperamental..just a great, energetic guy who loves to please.!
James does really well with other dogs and LOVES people! He would be a perfect guy to learn skills at a positive reinforcement group training class (Farfel's is happy to provide a list of force-free trainers in your area). He's super-smart (aren't all Jacks) and would respond so well to the behavioral guidance that these classes teach. There's no question that James would be well behaved and respectful as he uses his new-found training skills.
James can occasionally be insecure from all the changes in his life...a guardian who is present and full of good intention can readily get this great pup past these feelings and let him know he is loved and will never be abandoned again.
James may not be neutered when he arrives on transport in Denver -this area of Kansas has far too many dogs and not enough vets to fix these pups before they leave the area. Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs to neuter and microchip James at our Denver vet after his arrival in Colorado.
James is being fostered in the Boulder area. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If interested in this very sweet best friend, please fill out and return to firstname.lastname@example.org or fax to 303-443-7730.
