Hi, my name is KEELY! What’s yours? Nice to meet ya! See my THREE videos!

Hey! Before you get attached to me, read all the way to the bottom. You will see that I am still in Houston, TX but I want to get OUT of Houston and OUT of Texas so I can have a really good life. I want to see Texas in my rear view mirror. A nice person came along and took me in and, now, I am ready to hit the road to your house! Uh, make that “our” house, OK? As soon as you adopt me, I’ll be on my way to you! I am very excited to find my forever home.

I am an Akita/Shepherd mix girl. It's true! I've got a DNA test to prove it! I am 2.5-years old and I weigh 65 pounds. I have had all of my shots and have been spayed and I'm ready to go to my new home with YOU! Those funny-looking 2-legged creatures also say that I am microchipped – whatever THAT is.

Wanna hear more good stuff about me? OK, here goes. My foster parents tell everyone that I am a sweet and lovely girl and show no aggression at all toward humans. I love my humans! HUMANS ONLY!

I am a lovely dog on my own with those 2-legged creatures named humans but I am a sporting dog and I will chase ANYTHING else! If it has 4 legs, I'm gonna want to chase and catch it. I wonder if I'd be a good hunting dog. You could just sit back and I would do all of the work - I'll chase dogs, cats, squirrels - You name it! I have a VERY HIGH prey drive for anything on 4-legs.

Guess what else? I am affectionate and know basic commands. I am house-trained and crate-trained and have been very well cared for. You can tell by looking at my pretty hair! Also, I walk rather well on a leash and my chewing and digging stages are OVER!!! So, don't worry about that!

I must be the only doggie in the household, please. I'm all you will ever need!

My foster mom loves me SO much that she only wants me to fly to my new home even if a pet transport truck was available. See my adoption information below.

If you would like to take me home (and you know you do), please email and she can get me on my way to a new and loving home! My adoption fee is $650 USD and includes my vetting, spaying, microchip, health certificate, travel crate AND transportation on United Airlines from Houston, TX to areas in the Northeast U. S., North Central U. S., Northwest U. S., and Canada and will be arranged by the rescue group. (This is a courtesy posting.)

About A Better Life - Connecticut

About Our Rescue Group...

We rescue dogs from the streets of Houston, TX, vet them, recuperate them from health problems, bring them to full health and then work very hard to get them adopted out-of-state. Houston, TX has over ONE MILLION stray dogs. Thousands of perfectly healthy dogs, along with sick and dying dogs that are picked up, are euthanized every single day. Houston, TX is saturated with dogs. Everyone who WANTS a dog HAS a dog. We can only save lives by getting dogs out of our region. We have found the very best adopters in the Northeast and Northwest U. S. and Canada.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fee is $450 for a dog being transported via truck transport (includes previous vetting, microchip, spay/neuter, travel health certificate and ground transport). OR $650 (includes all of the above plus a travel crate and airfare) to fly your dog to the nearest airport that (1) has a direct flight from Houston, TX and (2) can accommodate the size travel crate your dog would fly in. If there is no direct flight, then we do have to schedule flights with layovers. We only use United Airlines because of their PetSafe Program. They are the only airline equipped to fly dogs in year-round weather conditions. The dogs get the same air and heat as in the passenger cabin.
