This little man is the epitome of a dignified sweet older gentleman. Tobias, is a 10- year old Affenpinscher He acts and looks much younger than his actual age and is bright, cheerful and always happy. He has his natural ears and tail, and it is always wagging and showing how delighted he is with life. His coat is nice and thick and a mixture of black and silver. Tobias is a well rounded dog who just wants to give that special someone all his love and kisses. He may be a little shy in the beginning, but will move into your heart and home like he has always lived there. His birth date is 9-7-2006, and he only weighs 8.2 pounds.
Tobias loves to be with you or close to you but when he is in your lap, he thinks it is all his and does not want to share. He loves other dogs and interacts well with his foster siblings; however he is somewhat of a loner and marches to his own drum.. He was surrendered with another Affen, and having a playmate or being an only furkid would be fine. He just eats up attention and lovin'! Tobias has made patrolling the yard as his job and takes it very seriously. You will have no trouble with chickens, guineas, or peacocks when he is on duty! But he is not much of a barker at all.
Tobias came into rescue when his previous owner could no longer care for him when she had to move into a nursing home. But he seems very flexible and moved into his foster home like he grew up there. He loves male and females equally. Tobias has not been exposed to children previously, but we believe he will do great with older children, but no small children because of his size.
Tobias is crate trained, and does not mind being confined to a crate when his foster parent has to be gone from home. He is loves traveling in a car and delights at watching the world pass by the window. He does travel in his crate. He is excellent with his potty training, When he goes out, he knows what he is there for. He is up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, heart worm negative and on preventative.
This delightful little man is being fostered in Dublin, GA. We never place our dogs in homes with invisible (electric) fencing and we never ship our dogs in cargo or transport them to adoptive homes. Travel to the foster home is the adopter’s responsibility. Doggy doors are OK as long as they are secured at night and when you are gone. He is small enough to be carried away by a large hawk or other predator so should never be outside alone. He would enjoy a fenced yard. Tobias is all about making his doggy parent happy!
