KNOWN HISTORY:
Tropical was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home.

MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:
Attention seeking, head butting, allowed all handling, tried to move around table and explore, resisted handling for eye treatment

EVALUATION:
Cage Condition: Cage is neat
Reaction to assessor: Tropical was relaxed and lying down on his blanket near the back of the cage.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Tropical rubs his body up against the cage door but got startled then retreated into his cubby.
Reaction to cage door opening: Tropical slowly comes out the cubby to greet.
Reaction to touch: Tropical sniffs the assessor''s hand, accepts petting then leans in for rubs on his cheeks. He purrs when pet, gives head butts and is very affectionate.
Reaction to being picked up: Tropical was a bit tense when held, then got antsy and tried to leap out of the assessor''s arms.

Our Adoption Process...

Animal Care & Control of NYC (AC&C) encourages everyone to
come to one of our three full service Care Centers when looking
to adopt a pet. Beautiful dogs, puppies, cats, kittens and
rabbits are anxiously waiting for a home to call their own. All
AC&C adoptions include vaccinations, a microchip,
spay/neuter, one month of free pet health insurance, and a free
office visit at a participating veterinarian.
