Comet-ADOPTED!!!'s Story...

Meet COMET!  This sweet puppy was born the day his mama was rescued from a kill-shelter.  They were all sooooo lucky!  He was born on 10/2/11 and currently is 9 weeks old and 14-15lbs.   Mom is only 40lbs but we think Dad was a larger dog and expect adult weight on Comet to be approx.  60lbs.  Comet is a friendly, outgoing playful soul who is very social and loves to be held.  He will be a wonderful addition to someone's family.  A fenced yard will be needed to keep this boy safe as he grows.  Comet is neutered, current on shots, started on heartworm preventive and microchipped.   An online application is required and can be found at www.hhk-9rescue.org by clicking the adoptions button at the top of the page.  You may also contact foster mom Janet at 804-746-1709 or jrmoncure@aol.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Comet-ADOPTED!!!, a Ashland Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Ashland, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) puppy from a breeder in Ashland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ashland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ashland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ashland paves the way for another one to be saved.
