My story

Magdalena was abandoned with her four daughters outside of a church in San Bernardino. They spent three days in extreme heat when a churchgoer contacted her friend who is also a Poochmatch volunteer. Immediately we coordinated to head to the church and rescue the family before they succumbed to the heat. We brought ice water and rinsed them all off before putting them in the air-conditioned car. The whole family had fleas and was very dirty. Magdalena is a wonderful momma dog, she knew we were helping her and has been very understanding and receptive to the handling of her pups. She has a gentle temperament. She is about 2 years old and weighs about 55 pounds.

Since her puppies have all been adopted we have been able to see her personality. She is very gentle, loving and affectionate. She loves going for walks and does so very well - no pulling. She is eager-to-please and very responsive to instruction. She has excellent house-etiquette and is not destructive even when her foster mom has to leave her unattended for 5-6 hours. Her gentle nature is also evident in her behavior around small, sometimes annoying, dogs - she is very well-behaved, even when she is being barked at. She is just a social butterfly and would be excellent as a companion dog for humans and other dogs. Her adoption fee is $295 which covers the cost of her spay, all core vaccines, microchip, microchip registration, fecal testing and deworming. If you are interested in meeting any Poochmatch dog at our weekly adoption event on Saturdays at the Petsmart in Yorba Linda, CA (5521 Mirage St.) between 1-5 PM, please fill out an application from our website, poochmatch.com, and return it via email to poochmatch@hotmail.com no later than 11 AM on Fridays. Upon receipt AND approval, the dog you are interested in meeting will be made available to meet on a Saturday. Due to the high volume of dogs and puppies in our foster homes, it is impossible to bring them all every Saturday. The only way to ensure that the dog that you are interested in will be at the adoption event is to FILL OUT AN APPLICATION AND BE APPROVED. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee that the dog you are interested in will be at our adoption event. If you cannot make the time frame of our events, appointments can be made at another time and location solely at the discretion of the foster parent. Please understand that private appointments will be coordinated to meet the convenience of the foster parent/transporter. We cannot hold dogs, please submit your application when you are ready to adopt.

All adoption fees cover the mandatory and non-negotiable spay/neuter, rabies, microchip, core vaccinations (rabies and 2 sets of distemper/parvo), fecal testing and deworming. Adoption fees vary solely based on age and size.
