My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please: DO NOT CALL ABOUT THIS PUPPY. If this listing is still posted then we are still accepting application for him/her. The best match will be selected and contacted to confirm an appointment. We do not do out-of-state adoptions for puppies and we cannot hold puppies; please submit your application when you are ready to adopt.

Ruth was abandoned with her sisters and mom, Magadalene (also posted) outside of a church in San Bernardino. They spent three days in extreme heat when a churchgoer contacted her friend who is also a Poochmatch volunteer. Immediately we coordinated to head to the church and rescue the family before they succumbed to the heat. We brought ice water and rinsed them all off before putting them in the air-conditioned car. The whole family had fleas and was very dirty. Her mom is a very well-balanced, gentle dog who has been understanding and receptive to us handling her puppies. She is 10 weeks old and weighs 13 pounds, her mom weighs about 50 pounds and we expect her to be about the same size. Her adoption fee is $495 which covers the cost of her spay, rabies vaccine, 4 sets of distemper/parvo vaccines, fecal testing, deworming, microchip and microchip registration. PLEASE RESEARCH THE CATTLE DOG BREED prior to applying, she is not going to be a couch potato and will need an active home that can keep her mind and body busy to become a well-balanced adult dog. If you are interested in meeting more than one puppy prior to adopting, please list who is your first and second pick so that we can coordinate with other applicants. Approved applicants will be selected and we will coordinate with them to meet the pup they are interested in adopting on Saturdays at the Petsmart of Yorba Linda. Please read the following paragraphs which contain information about completing the adoption applcation and adopting a puppy.

If you are interested in meeting this dog at our weekly adoption event on Saturdays at the Petsmart in Yorba Linda, CA (5521 Mirage St.) between 1-5 PM, please fill out an application from our website, poochmatch.com, and return it via email to poochmatch@hotmail.com no later than 11 AM on Fridays. Due to the high volume of dogs and puppies in our foster homes, it is impossible to bring them all every Saturday. The only way to ensure that the dog that you are interested in will be at the adoption event is to FILL OUT AN APPLICATION AND BE APPROVED FOR ADOPTION. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee that the dog you are interested in will be at our adoption event. If you cannot make the time frame of our events, appointments can be made at another time and location solely at the discretion of the foster parent.

Puppies adoption fees range from $325 to $495 and always include the mandatory and non-negotiable Spay/Neuter, 4 sets of distemper/parvo vaccinations, Rabies and microchip at 4 months when altered, 2 de wormings, fecal testing and medication related to worms, or parasites (coccida/giardia).

Puppies are not house-trained although they may have begun crate-training and/or potty pad training in their foster home, depending on their age. House-training is a process that will need to be completed by their adopter. Puppies, if left unsupervised and not redirected will develop negative behaviors such as using the restroom in the wrong place, chewing, barking, whining, etc. Please be sure to do research on raising a puppy and be sure that you are prepared to do so. This is a great article from 3LostDogs that explains the trials and tribulations of puppyhood: http://3lostdogs.com/things-wish-everyone-knew-before-they-get-dog-2/
