Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Our sweet and beautiful Bella couldn't be more loving no matter how hard she tried. Bella is a 9 - 12 month old, 45 lb Australian Cattle Dog/Labrador Retriever mix (can't get a better family dog) that is just waiting to be the love of someone's life.
Both Cattle Dogs and Labs have grown in popularity tremendously over the past few years. It makes perfect sense in that they're known for their great temperaments, incredible intelligence and loyalty.. and love for their families. Farfel's rescues almost every Aussie Cattle Dog/Lab mix that is in need of our help with confidence they will have great energy and be excellent family members. Bella has all these wonderful traits and was described by her New Mexico foster mom as PERFECTLY WONDERFUL!
Bella has had a challenging period of time but is now safe and sound…never to be cold or hungry again. But with it all…Bella doesn't hold a grudge and desires only to be the best companion possible. Since Bella is so young, she's a blank slate…open to all possibilities if treated kindly and with respect.
Group training classes with a positive reinforcement trainer would truly serve both Bella and her family (as it does every dog and their people). Together they will learn the skills to have Bella be a companion that is well-behaved in every situation. It also creates strong bonds of respect between pup and family.
Bella tends to be a loving and sensitive girl who loves life and responds so well to nurturing and time spent together (hugs and kisses are absolutely awesome)... and of course some great treats are always a wonderful option. Bella gets very attached to those she loves and before you know it, is on her way to her favorite people for belly rubs and soft touches.
Bella loves to come along ..be it to a dog-friendly workplace, a hike on a Colorado trail, a vacation or just socializing…Bella would love to be there as Companion #1. She has such a pleasant personality and is low-maintenance enough to fit in just about anywhere
.
We envision Bella in a home that will provide her with exercise and mental stimulation. Bella wouldn't be happy spending long hours alone…she is far too people-oriented to be happy with that. A retiree or a person who works either part-time or from home would be great. Bella would love the companionship and consistency of those relationships. Being a young dog, she'd also learn that she's loved and cared for. This is a lesson that results in a happy and confident adult dog.
