My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet Lucy is an adorable 8 year old 6 pound little Yorkie girl. Little Lucy is being fostered in Homestead, FL.

Lucy's is adoption fee is $250 and includes all vetting (neuter/spay, dental cleaning, immunizations, microchip and chip registration).  A Vet reference, personal references, and home visit are required for adoption. You may apply to adopt Lucy by going to our website at www.unitedyorkierescue.org and completing the adoption application located on our home page.

INITIAL BIO 07/30/2017: Little Lucy is our newest Florida sweetheart. She is only 6 pounds, but should be closer to a healthy 5 pounds. Poor Lucy won't be getting pizza and fries, her favorite foods, anymore. It's good quality, wholesome dog food for Lucy from now on. Although Lucy has only been in her foster home a short while, her foster mom said she is so sweet and so good. She is happy and playful and loves everyone, men, women, older children, and dogs. She is house trained and will go fetch her leash and bring it to you if she wants to go out - how smart is that? She likes to play fetch and knows a few tricks. Lucy is certainly one special little girl.

Unfortunately Lucy's dad had to move out of his home and couldn't take Lucy with him. As much as he wanted to take her, he was not able to due to his special circumstances that were out of his control. It was with a sad heart that he surrendered Lucy to UYR. He knew she would be well cared for and loved and that her foster mom would find her the perfect forever home. Perhaps that perfect forever home is your's?

Lucy will be seeing the vet very soon. She needs all her vaccinations updated and also needs a dental and spay before she is ready for adoption. After Lucy's vet visit we will know more about any potential medical issues she may have. If all is well, after her spay and dental this adorable, happy, friendly little girl will be ready for her forever home.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to Lucy's small size, she can only go to a home with children over the age of 9.

Now Lucy would like to introduce herself.

Hello everyone!

My name is Lucy and my foster mom says I am just the cutest, nicest little dog ever.My dad loved me very much, but he was no longer able to keep me, so I am looking for a new forever home. He took really good care of me and I love humans because I have been taken care of so well. I love to play, I love all people, men, women, and especially kids, so I would make the perfect little family dog for any family who would love to love on me. Foster mom says that the children should be over 12 years old. I will love on you, too. You want to cuddle me for hours? Sold. I love that. Do you want to play? Sold. I love to play. I play fetch, go on walks, and love any attention anyone would like to give me. I also understand commands. My foster mom says I am very well trained and very smart. Duh. I know what I am supposed to do in the house, which is not go to the bathroom on your floor, but to be your shadow. I will follow you around the house, waiting for you to tell me what you need. I am very protective of any human around me, cause it’s my job. I might be small, but I know that I am a mighty force and you might need my help, but I never bite anybody. I'm too smart for that. My foster mom says I am the cutest little bodyguard she’s ever met.

I am going to the vet soon to get some stuff done. I am not sure if I will like that, but my foster mm told me it is important to my health. If you think you may want to be my forever family please fill out an adoption application for me. You won’t be sorry.
