Hello! My name is Grayson and I am such a sweet kitty! I am so beautiful and have amazing markings. My foster mom thinks my sides and belly look like a Bengal tiger. I love to run around crazy and play hard with my brother, Chatson. When I tire myself out, I love to crawl up next to my human and sleep. I like to be touching my human as I'm a snuggler! Helping mom with the laundry is a favorite pastime of mine. When my humans are not looking, I sometimes try to sneak a lick from their morning coffee!!! Lol! I'm a very content kitty with a loud purr! Won't you consider filling out an application and bringing me home to my furever home?

Are you interested in adopting Grayson or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received.

Completed applications can be sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org , faxed to 919-300-5524 or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at PetSmart in Garner (White Oak Shopping Center) or at Petsmart in Smithfield.

We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application for Grayson.

Thanks for thinking adoption!

About Johnston County Animal Protection League

About Our Rescue Group...

We are the Johnston County Animal Protection League (JCAPL). We are a 501 (c)(3) non profit, founded in 2001.

Our primary function and purpose is animal advocacy and to promote animal welfare, in all its aspects.

We do rescue and adoptions, outreach (providing low cost spay/neuter); and education.

Fax: 919-300-5524, Phone: 919-989-7601, email: help@jcapl.org

We are unpaid volunteers, but we continue to try and fill the void wherever we see the need, and we do it because the need is great and the animals are innocent in all the crimes and abuses against them.

Come Meet Our Pets...

CATS and KITTENS: Our adoptable cats & kittens are at the Luv-A-Pet Centers at PetSmart, White Oak in Garner and in Brightleaf Blvd in Smithfield).

Cats can be seen during regular store hours by asking a manager or by appointment, with JCAPL. On Saturdays between 10am and 2pm, JCAPL volunteers bring additional cats and kittens to the Luv-A-Pet Center at both locations.

We do rotate our cats and kittens regularly so if you see a cat or kitten online, but do not see them at Petsmart, they are most likely taking a break at their foster home. Please feel free to contact us if you have questions about the adoption status of specific cat or kitten.

DOGS and PUPPIES can be seen at the PetSmart at White Oak Shopping Center from 10:00 am until 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays every other week, or by appointment with individual foster homes.

Our Adoption Process...

Dogs $175.00 (includes the animal spayed or neutered, current on vaccines that are age appropriate; flea & tick prevention and heartworm prevention, dewormed and microchip)(refundable $100 deposit required if the puppy is too young to be spayed or neutered - deposit returned after spay/neuter has been completed and verified with veterinarian)

Cats $110 (current on vaccines (FVRCP & Rabies), dewormed, FelV/FIV tested, Advantage or Revolution applied and spayed or neutered (refundable $100 deposit required if the kitten is too young to be spayed or neutered - deposit returned after spay/neuter has been completed and verified with veterinarian).

We require an Adoption Application to be completed, interview with potential adopter, sometimes home visits are done and vet references checked when possible. If the potential adopter lives in a rental property, we will need verification from the property owner or management that pets are allowed, how many and what restrictions may apply. An Adoption Agreement and Medical History form are signed. We require a deposit if animal is pending spay or neuter appointment, and monitor follow-up to keeping the appointment.
