My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

IDGSR WELCOMES CABELA INTO THE SAFETY OF THE RESCUE!!!!!

Cabela is a pretty female German Shepherd mix who is approx. 5 months old. We are not sure what she is mixed with, possibly boxer. She has been in her foster home for a few weeks now and her foster mom has this to say about Cabela:

"Cabela is a high energy girl and her whole body wiggles with excitement. She is housebroken and she is doing so well with her manners and is so cuddly. She LOVES to play fetch. With no training, she brings the ball right back to you and drops it (most of the time). She is so sweet. Does well with kids. She sleeps till 7 or after every morning.... goes potty then back to bed. If you wake her, she gives you the look as if she is saying either come lay with me or go away and let me sleep. She is too interested in cats so NO CATS for this girl. Cabela has a lot of energy and will need to be part of an active family - runners, joggers, hikers, etc. We have taken her on short runs (due to her age) and she is a great running buddy."

Cabela is a cute as she can be but is still a puppy. Puppies require a lot of time and attention to make them the best grown-up dogs they can be. They will whine, get into things and chew on inappropriate things, all while they are learning and growing. Puppy obedience class is very helpful to get them socialized, work on puppy behavior and begin to form a strong bond with the new owner.

If you would like to make this sweet girl a part of your family, please copy the link for the application.
