Pookie's Story...
We sure don't know how Pookie came to find himself at our local shelter. How could anyone abandon this sweetheart?? Pookie is a spunky guy and would love to show you his cute personality. His ears typically do that one-up one-down thing and you gotta love that curly tail! He gets along fine with other dogs and barks at the cats. He is smaller than they are and trying to act like the big guy :). He loves to take walks and does great on leash. Pookie weighs 9.5 lbs and is around 10 months old. He's crate trained and housebroken, neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative and on preventative. Pookie is microchipped too! Contact cedarfarm@yadtel.net for an adoption application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pookie, a Mocksville Papillon/Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Papillon/Maltese for sale in Mocksville, or seeking a Papillon/Maltese dog from a breeder in Mocksville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mocksville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mocksville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Papillon/Maltese breeders who help with Papillon/Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mocksville paves the way for another one to be saved.
