Eliza is a very pretty black/rust dobie girl who weighs 65-70 lbs, her ears are cropped and tail is docked. She just turned 3 on May 31 so her energy level is great for someone looking for a companion who enjoys hiking but doesn't have that bouncing off the walls high energy that some younger dogs have. She enjoys chewing on antlers and bones and loves her toys. She likes to put her toys in your lap while she plays with them. Her fetching needs a bit of work but we had fun making her video: https://youtu.be/z4n42E_9B6k. Eliza is house trained and rides well in a car. She seems to get anxious when crated but can be crated if necessary. She is not destructive in the house. Eliza's owner's were transferred overseas and were afraid Eliza wouldn't survive the long transport to the Middle East so they asked DAR&E to find their girl a loving home. Eliza has taken it hard losing the only family she has ever known. She is a sensitive, insecure girl who was not well socialized by her previous owners. She tends to be reactive around other dogs and is anxious around strangers. Eliza needs to be given her space and time to feel comfortable around strangers. Eliza is looking for a quiet adult only home where she will be the only pet. Eliza needs a confident owner who can give her consistent structure and boundaries so that she can feel secure. Someone who understands the sensitive doberman temperament and ideally someone who will eventually work with Eliza to get her better socialized with strangers and other dogs. If you have plenty of time, patience and love to give to our sweet, sensitive girl she will reward you with her love and total devotion. If you have the right environment for Eliza, email me to find out more about our girl. Go to www.dobe.net to see her pictures.

About Doberman Assistance Rescue & Education

About Our Rescue Group...

DAR&E is a Maryland-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to serving the burgeoning needs of Dobermans in Maryland, Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia and eastern West Virginia areas.

Our primary directives are to educate the public about Dobermans, to assist owners in placing unwanted Dobermans, to provide foster homes and veterinary care for rescued and relinquished Dobermans and to place Dobermans into loving homes through our adoption program.

Our primary concern is the health and well being of the Dobermans we foster and adopt out.

We only adopt to approved adopters who live in the Maryland, Virginia, DC or West Virginia areas. We do not make exceptions. We perform homevisits, vet checks and require an adoption fee to cover part of our costs. Our dogs are all up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. If you see a pet you are interested in, please go to our website (www.dobe.net) and submit an adoption application.
