My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It's difficult to imagine this truly beautiful (inside and out) Border Terrier/Cairn Terrier mix in a high-kill shelter in Texas. A compassionate Farfel's rescuer saved Trevor's life..she saw that he was so loving with a perfect temperament to be a wonderful family dog. She immediately made the decision to rescue Trevor and book him for transport to a new life in Colorado.

It's now getting to the time when Trevor is ready to be transported to his new life in Colorado. Although it will be terribly hard for Trevor's rescuer mom to say goodbye...she knows that he will have a great life. The following is a description of Trevor by his rescuer:

--Trevor is such a sweet guy just waiting to blossom. I've enjoyed watching him learn that the world can be a loving and positive place. Trevor had a hard start - but now he's learning about treats, belly rubs and that he's a very valuable pup! He may very well be initially shy, but just give him a minute and you'll have a new best friend. Trevor loves to run and play outside...he has the perfect amount of energy for an 18 month old, 24 lb healthy pup. Trevor would do well with a family who is home a lot to hike and play with and run freely at the park - he would love that! After he's had exercise and stimulation, Trevor is ready to chill on the couch right next to his favorite people.

Trevor's potentially gorgeous coat (with the most beautiful colors running through it) appears to be either non-shedding or lightly shedding (it's difficult to tell when a dog first leave the shelter's challenging environment). Either way, it will require care...a periodic grooming and great nutrition would be perfect to keep Trevor's coat as gorgeous and cottony-soft as it can be.

Trevor really enjoys other dogs, but appreciates those that are respectful of his smaller size. He has also been really great with my 12 and 16 year old daughters, although I haven't seen him around smaller kids. He's excellent with my mom and has been a great companion for her during the day.

Trevor is a truly smart pup - true to his breeds!! What a gem of a best friend for a family who wants to include a very cute and sweet dog in their life. He has the potential to be a extremely loving and fun.. as well as a very loyal and engaging companion. Farfel's is very excited to participate in finding this special Terrier mix his forever family.

Trevor may not be neutered when he arrives on transport in Denver -this area of Texas has far too many dogs and not enough vets to fix these pups before they leave the area. Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs to neuter and microchip Trevor at our Denver vet after his arrival in Colorado.

Trevor will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Saturday 8/12/17. If interested in this very sweet and loyal guy who is full of love and personality, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
