Here's what the humans have to say about me:
LOUIE HAS BEEN ADOPTED! Meet Louie dog, an adorable scruffy and sweet fellow looking for his forever home. Louie was born in December 2014 so he's 2.5 years old currently and weighs in around 55 pounds. Louie was adopted from Pal's Place rescue when he was just a young pup. He was originally rescued from a kill shelter in KY with his 4 littermates. 3 of his siblings looked like Aussies and Louie and one of his sisters had wiry coats and body types similar to a Schnauzer. Louie was recently returned to Pal's Place for placement when his original adopters welcomed a baby into their home. They felt Louie may not be the best match for a home with young children and regrettably surrendered back to the rescue. Louie can be a little timid/aloof when meeting new people but warms up quickly with some kinds words and treats. He exhibits many characteristics of herding breeds like Aussies and Border Collies and when he is very excited or overstimulated he can be a little mouthy when playing and occasionally likes to nip at people's ankles. He's very intelligent, active and eager to please and will make a great dog for someone looking to participate in dog sports (agility, flyball, rally etc) with a new companion. He knows several tricks and commands and has been introduced to agility and he absolutely loved it. Louie is very well behaved in the home and is house trained and crate trained. Louie's ideal home would be with someone familiar with herding breeds and with a family that would be interested in furthering his training. He'll be happiest in a home that can provide him with daily mental and physical stimulation. This boy loves to learn and work! He also does well with other dogs and loves visiting the dog park. He'd be a good buddy for an existing canine. Louie is anxious to meet his forever family, could it be yours!? He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and very healthy. His adoption fee to the rescue is $275. He is in a foster home in Chicago and can be seen by appointment once an application has been received and approved. For more information or for an adoption application, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com
