Lola is a sweet and loving 4 year-old Beagle with a bobtail who had the misfortune of not only being homeless at a rural county dog shelter but also testing positive for heartworms there making it almost impossible for her to be adopted. With her future in jeopardy, Lola made the trip to Canine Lifeline so she would be able to get the lifesaving treatment that she needed. Lola has been through heartworm treatment with us and has done very well so is now ready to search for a permanent new home. Lola is a typical Beagle who loves everyone and everything, has a great sniffer, and looks forward to mealtime. She loves to talk so might not be the right dog for an apartment or condo setting. Lola gets along very well with other dogs so would enjoy having another canine pal or two in her new home. She would love to explore her new neighborhood with her new family and looks forward to lots of adventures. Lola has excellent crate manners so is likely to pick up the housetraining routine readily in her new home. She loves life and is going to make a great companion for one lucky person or family. Lola weighs about 22 pounds and her adoption fee is $200. She’s spayed, current on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Lola. An approved application is required before we set up meets with any of our dogs. All of our dogs come to us from county dog pounds so we have no history on them. We also have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. Please visit our website at to see more photos of Lola and to submit an online application.

Lola’s heartworm treatment cost about $750. If you’d like to make a donation to help with her care so that we may save another dog in the future, please do so on our website at or by sending a check to Canine Lifeline, PO Box 25742, Garfield Hts OH 44125. Thank you from Lola and Canine Lifeline!

About Canine Lifeline

About Our Rescue Group...

Canine Lifeline is an all volunteer 501(c)3 organization with a mission to save adoptable dogs from being euthanized at shelters due to overcrowding or treatable medical conditions such as heartworm. All of our dogs are in foster homes throughout northeast Ohio.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Canine Lifeline takes adoptable dogs to Petco in Macedonia most Sunday's. We also participate in many adoption events throughout the summer months. Please check our website at for the most current adoption event listing.

Our Adoption Process...

All Canine Lifeline dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations including a one-year rabies, and are on monthly heartworm preventative. In the warmer months of the year, our dogs are also on a flea and tick preventative. The adoption fee for dogs 7 months up to 7 years of age is $200. Senior dogs may be adopted for a reduced fee of $125. Puppies 6 months and under are $275. Since all of our dogs come from shelters and have been stray or abandoned at least once in their lives, we want to make sure that their next home is for keeps. That’s why each adoption comes with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a perfect match before the adoption is finalized.
