My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

In addition to the following profile for this dog, please first read the Adoption Information at http://www.shihtzurescuemn.org/adopt.html to understand the process, requirements and timeline for adoption. An adoption application can also be found in the Adoption Info section. If, after reading that information, you have any questions, please submit your question via e-mail and it will be answered. Please do not request a phone call. A personal phone call will only be made when an adoption application has been submitted and the foster parent wishes to consider the application. Thank you!

Hutch is a handsome 6 year old male Shih Tzu. He is gray and white, with long legs and a sweet disposition! He has settled in nicely in his foster home and enjoys the company of the family’s two other dogs and one cat. He has a happy personality is a free thinker! You can tell that he didn’t have many boundaries set in his previous home – he’s not naughty or destructive, he was just never taught good house manners. For instance, if given the opportunity, Hutch will easily jump up on to the table if a chair is pulled left out. He walks well on a leash, but only if he wants to. He's still getting used to a harness and going for walks twice per day, and will eventually become accustomed to them and a regular routine. So his new family must understand and want to continue with refining his behavior. One of his favorite pass times is to sit in his foster mom’s lap, where he will do so as long as possible. Hutch will be happy in a home where he can be on a cozy lap!

Hutch is neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped and on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. He does have a condition known as dry eye, and will require daily eye medication for the rest of his life. Hutch’s adoption fee is $320.00 plus $23.28 tax, for a total of $343.28. His foster parents would like his adopters to live within 75 miles of the Twin Cities and hope that they will agree to attend the annual Shih Tzu Reunion held in September each year.

To meet Hutch, please complete an adoption application. Or you can also see him and the other dogs available for adoption from Shih Tzu Rescue of Minnesota by visiting with us from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Minnetonka Petco near Ridgedale the first Saturday of every month.
