My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Joker came into our county shelter as a stray and was never claimed by a family. Due to over-crowding, Joker was at jeopardy to be euthanized. We just couldn't let that happen to his beautiful, young dog. We believe him to be a leonberger mix which is not common in this area. Our current photos do not do his justice as he is much more handsome. We hope to get more professional photos soon.

We named him Joker due to his mask-like marking on his face. But unlike his Batman name-sake, he is fun, playful and liked by his dog community. He loves to play and rough-house, although sometimes he forgets that he is bigger than his playmate. He's basically a big puppy still as we estimate him being approx. 1 1/2 years old. We can't imagine that someone is not missing him as he is crate and house trained. He loves attention.

Joker will most likely be a 60-70 lbs dog at maturity and is "fluffy" requiring regular brushing and periodic grooming.

Joker is up to date on vaccines, altered and tested negative for heartworm, tick & lyme diseases.
Joker's $175 adoption donation helps Brittany Rescue AZ provide medical care to our older dogs that mostly likely will live out their lives with us.

Our adoption process includes an application (please email britrescueaz@cox.net for the application)
interview, home visit and meet/greet. We do a two-week trial with all of our dogs to ensure we have made a good match for your family. Contact Robin at britrescueaz@cox.net for more info or to request and application.
